Our flexible, career-focused online Master of Legal Studies with an emphasis in Energy, Oil, and Gas Law is perfect for those who don’t intend to practice law. Graduate-level law certificates at Texas A&M University are designed for professionals interested in specialized legal training and an in-depth understanding of legal aspects of their industry without the monetary and time commitment of a full master’s degree. Courses are offered via asynchronous distance learning, allowing working professionals to access coursework and assignments on their own schedule. This online format includes case study assignments and regular interaction with classmates through video meetings, audio casts, chat rooms, discussion boards, and group breakout sessions. 

 The Certificate in Energy Law – Oil and Gas Law and Policy is designed for new and experienced energy industry professionals, including experts who negotiate oil and gas and energy contracts and regulation of natural resources such as water and minerals. The certificate prepares these individuals to effectively address complex legal and policy challenges in the energy, oil, and gas sector as they apply to policies, business, and economic factors. Participants learn about important federal and state laws, regulations and policies in the energy, oil, and gas sector, advances in theory and practice, and applications of law, regulation and policies through case studies. Upon completion of the program, individuals will be able to synthesize scenarios, practice, and legal regulation in the energy, oil, and gas sector and provide analysis or judgments for consideration to organizational leadership with a nuanced perspective.
